A Just Economy, Guaranteed Jobs, and Living Wage
Northern Californians work hard, but too many still can’t get ahead. Wages remain flat while the costs of rent, groceries, and utilities continue to climb—exacerbated by tariffs that act as hidden sales taxes on our families. Across the country, working people are showing incredible courage by organizing and demanding fair treatment. It is time Congress matched that bravery by standing up to greedy corporations and building an economy rooted in union power and justice.
When I’m in Congress, I will:
Raise the Wage to $25: I advocate for a living wage of at least $25 per hour, indexed to inflation so it rises automatically with the cost of living, while eliminating the sub-minimum wage.
Strengthen Union Power: I will fully support the PRO Act, work to reverse anti-labor laws like Taft-Hartley, and ban deceptive "captive audience" meetings used to discourage unionization.
Establish a Federal Jobs Guarantee: I will work to ensure every American who wants to work has access to a federally funded, local job that benefits their community—whether that is care work, infrastructure repair, or forest management here in CA-02.
Protect Worker Rights and Benefits: I will fight for nationwide paid sick and family leave, ban exploitative non-compete clauses, and ensure gig workers are classified as employees to receive the benefits and base pay they deserve.
Support Families and Children: We must make the Child Tax Credit permanent and fully refundable, while capping childcare costs and providing universal pre-K so parents can work with peace of mind.
Hold Corporations Accountable: I will work to break up monopolies in tech, energy, and food that price out local choices, and I will fight to ban the permanent replacement of striking workers and provide free legal support in cases of employer retaliation.
Repeal tariffs that hurt our communities: I will work to repeal tariffs on food that are crippling our farmers, restaurants and inflating our grocery bills.
Together, we can move away from an economy that serves only the billionaires and build one that provides a decent life and dignity for every working family.
