Experienced North State political hand has built county supervisor and Congressional campaigns
Redding, CA (June 18, 2024) – Rose Penelope Yee excited to introduce Bruce T. McLean as field manager for her Congressional campaign, with a mandate to help build not just a campaign, but also a robust grassroots movement centered on community and care.
McLean has considerable field experience in building campaigns throughout the North State. A 34-year resident of Butte County who earned his bachelor’s degree in political science from San Francisco State University in 1972, he has helped build several campaigns, ranging from county supervisor races to a Congressional race. McLean founded the Forest Ranch Fire Safe Council in 2008 as a result of the devastating fires that year. He also served as a liaison with and board member of the Butte County Fire Safe Council. More recently, McLean has concentrated on improving everyone’s health by campaigning for a single-payer healthcare system. He has been a very active board member of the Butte County Health Care Coalition. He has also served as a board member of the statewide Healthy California Now single-payer coalition, representing rural Californians since 2020. In addition, he has been an engaged member of the California Alliance for Retired Americans, North State chapter.
“I have the utmost confidence in Bruce’s leadership and commitment to our shared values of freedom, justice and opportunity for all,” said Yee. “With Bruce leading our field operations, I know we will build an unstoppable movement that will inspire hope and drive meaningful change.”
