Redding, CA (July 17, 2024) – The Northeastern California Building & Construction Trades Council, which represents thousands of workers in Shasta, Tehama, Trinity, Lassen, Modoc and Siskiyou Counties, has endorsed Rose Penelope Yee for Congress.

“The Northeastern California Building & Construction Trades Council is proud to endorse Rose Penelope Yee in her campaign for Congressional District 1,” said Matt Goody, president of the Council. “Rose is a proponent of organized labor and has expressed a genuine interest in working together with all the trades to further improve the opportunities available for good-paying union careers in our state and the country as a whole.

“Her grassroots approach is refreshing,” he added. “We see in Rose a candidate that truly desires to work for the people she represents, and not special interests.”

As the Northeastern California Building & Construction Trades Council notes on its website, members of the organization have been involved in building nearly all of the North State’s most significant structures and facilities, from Shasta Dam and the Sundial Bridge to manufacturing plants and commercial spaces.

"I am honored to receive the endorsement of the Northeastern California Building & Construction Trades Council,” said Yee. “The support from this prominentaffiliation of local unions reflects my campaign’s dedication to advancing the wellbeing of the North State’s working families and our strong commitment to securing the freedom to organize, join unions, and collectively bargain for fair wages and working conditions. I look forward to working with the Council to create new opportunities and strengthen our community’s economy.”
