What Real Representation Can Be: People’s Policy Council
When you vote for me, you're doing more than sending a fighter for your rights to Congress.
You're helping create a new model of representation.
For too long, elected officials have spent more time listening to lobbyists, corporate donors, and party leaders than to the people they were elected to serve. I believe it's time to change that.
As your Congresswoman, I will establish a People's Policy Council for California's District 2.
The Council will include representatives from every county in the district, along with representatives from constituencies that deserve a seat at the table: veterans, Indigenous communities, youth, LGBTQ residents, working families, small business owners, labor, and others. I also welcome participation from Greens, Peace and Freedom voters, independents, Republicans, Libertarians, and anyone who wants to help build a better future for our district.
Council members will serve on a rotating volunteer basis and meet with me regularly throughout the year. They will bring forward the concerns, ideas, and priorities they are hearing from their communities. In turn, I will report back on what is happening in Washington, the legislation being considered, and the challenges and opportunities facing our district. Together, we will create an ongoing conversation between the people of District 2 and their representative in Congress.
The People's Policy Council is my commitment that no lobbyist, corporate donor, or the establishment will ever have more influence over my decisions than the people of District 2.
This is about making real what a representative government is.
It is a form of co-governance that makes accountability real - not just every two years on Election Day, but every month. It ensures that the voices of working people remain at the center of the decisions being made in Washington.
If elected, District 2 can become a national model for democratic participation and community-led governance. We can show that elected officials don't have to answer to party insiders, corporate PACs, or powerful special interests. They can answer directly to the people.
And if this model succeeds here, it can be replicated across the country.
That's how we begin building a government that truly serves People, Peace, and Planet.
Yours in solidarity,
Rose
P.S. This vision only becomes reality if we win. If you believe Congress should answer to people instead of corporate PACs, lobbyists, and party insiders, please donate today and vote by June 2. Together, let's show the country what real representation looks like.
